We've Moved!

Thanks for reading

Wasn't digging where Substack was headed and wanted to get away from the platform. I'm hosting the site myself. Even though I don't post much I wanted end to end control of the content and presentation.

I've removed the subscribe function. It wasn't used that much and I don't like the to send the post announcements as a mailing list. Plus it's one less thing to manage. For the 10 years or so I did live-audio board and ProSoundWeb (primarily as a side hustle/hobby) I got burnt on running a moderate scale site. At one point at PSW when the Mixerman Chronicles broke we were doing a couple million page views a week. When the site sold I decided I didn't want to do it anymore and returned to touring.

So here we are. Can't say I'll post more frequently. I have 8-10 posts in the queue at various times in various stages of editing. The thing is if I read them too many times to edit I end up not liking them and shelving them. That's one part where in traditional publishing you're forced to commit. Hit the deadline, it goes to the editor and with any luck and the editor's skill it ends well.

We'll see how it goes.
